İdman.Biz reports that during the match, "Mushuc Runa" defender Brayan Negro made an excessively harsh and dangerous tackle against his opponent Jean Pierre Arroyo Vernaza. During the fight for the ball, Negro's foot hit the opponent's left leg directly, resulting in the 22-year-old midfielder's ankle being broken.
A medical team was immediately called to the scene. Considering the severity of the injury, doctors transported Vernaza from the field to the hospital by ambulance. The referee immediately removed Brayan Negro from the field with a red card for grossly violating the rules.
Initial medical examinations confirmed a serious fracture in the player's left leg. According to experts, Vernaza will need at least 6-9 months to return to the green fields.
