Azerbaijan national team striker Mahir Emreli is expected to be in the starting lineup for Kayserslautern in their match against Preussen Münster today, as part of the 6th round of the German II Bundesliga.
Idman.biz reports, citing Futbolinfo.az, that the team's head coach Torsten Lieberknecht has not ruled this out. The coach plans to give Emreli, who did not appear in the last round, a chance from the first minutes this time: "Every football player in the team must be ready at any moment. This applies not only to Emreli, but to everyone. I see Mahir very eager and determined lately. In my team, whoever shows himself well in training and demonstrates fighting spirit will get a chance to play."
Kaiserslautern's sporting director, Marcel Klos, also expressed positive opinions about Emreli. The club official emphasized that they have high hopes for the national team's forward: "We are happy that we were able to convince Mahir to join Kaiserslautern despite other offers. He proved his ability to score goals in his previous clubs, especially last season at Nuremberg. His speed, willingness to run, finishing ability, and agility in attack show that he has the necessary qualities to demonstrate high-quality play."
It should be noted that the Kayserslautern – Preussen Münster match will start at 20:30 Baku time. After 5 rounds, Kayserslautern is in 6th place with 9 points.
