Former Morocco national team coach Herve Renard has criticised striker Brahim Dias for failing to convert a penalty in the 90+24th minute of the Africa Cup of Nations final against Senegal. Sport24.az reports that the specialist made a statement to Sport.es about this:
"Brahim Dias' "panenka" penalty? Mistakes can happen, it can happen to anyone. But such irresponsibility in this situation is unforgivable. This is disrespect to the whole country and to people who have been wanting to succeed for 50 years.
I also faced a similar situation in the Arab Cup game against Morocco. One of my players, Abdullah Al-Hamdan, missed a "panenka" penalty. After the game, I asked him to come to the press conference and apologize."
It should be noted that Senegal, who defeated Morocco in the Nations League final, became the winner of the tournament.
