Columbus Crew head coach Henrik Ridström has high expectations for Nariman Akhundzade.
Report reports that the specialist said this in a statement on the club's official website after the game with Toronto.
The head coach emphasized the importance of strengthening competition in the team:
"We have time to recover, lick our wounds and come together, but we need more competition for that. We are currently acting too timidly on the field. I hope that new players joining the team, such as Andre Gomes and Nariman Akhundzade, will be able to raise our level to increase competition. It is very important for us to fight more seriously with their arrival."
It should be noted that N.Akhundzade entered the field in the 88th minute of the match and went down in history as the first Azerbaijani football player to play in the MLS. The match ended with Toronto's 2:1 victory.
