Aqil Nabiyev, the head coach of the Azerbaijan national team consisting of football players under the age of seventeen, assessed the test match (2:0) in which they defeated the corresponding age group team of Kazakhstan at the Gabala city stadium.
"Report" informs that the specialist made a statement to the Press Service of AFFA about this.
He emphasized that he was satisfied with the team's performance:
"It was a difficult game. The rain in Gabala for several days also had a certain impact. 9 of our football players invited from the Spanish "Marcet" team joined the team last night. The fact that we could not train as a team caused some distress.
The character shown today showed that there are good football players in Azerbaijan. We have proven this both in the UEFA Development Tournament and in the last matches. We just need to take the right direction and trust these children. I believe that we will get better and better. We have been gathering with this team since March. This is our third gathering now.
We will have another training camp before the official games. We will play in the same group with France, Israel and Romania in the qualifying round of the European Championship. Although the opponents are strong, we believe in our team."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani U-17 national team will play its next test match against the Georgian national team on June 10.
