To be a good coach, you need to be a football player.
"Report" reports that Gurban Gurbanov, the head coach of "Garabagh", said this in his speech at the I Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025) held in Baku.
According to him, to achieve success, you need to work hard:
"I think you need to be a football player to be a good coach. Sometimes, when I was a football player, I also protested against the coach. But when I started playing professional football, I started to learn the psychology of a football player. To be successful, I have always preferred to work hard. Now I instill this in my players. Sometimes they don't like it. I remember the years when I was a football player and I try to understand them and instill in them to work hard".
The head coach added that "Garabagh's" victory also makes the people happy:
"The day we won the Europa League in 2009 coincided with the day of the occupation of Aghdam. Winning that day made us very happy. That championship was very high quality for us".
