Head coach Gurban Gurbanov said that the "Qarabag" team deserved to qualify for the UEFA Champions League play-offs.
According to Idman.Biz, the expert shared his views on the VIII round match of the main stage of the UEFA Champions League against "Liverpool":
"We wouldn't want to lose with such a score, we feel sorry. But I congratulate my players. In the 8 games we played, we took a lot of risks and had difficult games. Our team deserved to qualify for the play-off stage. We could have performed better in this match. This was not our game. We talked to our players in the dressing room after the match. They also said that they could have performed better. Rest assured that if we meet "Liverpool" again, we will make a better impression than now. However, we deservedly made it to the top "24" of the main stage. I congratulate the people of Azerbaijan."
He also evaluated the potential opponents of the "stallions" in the play-off stage:
"PSG and Newcastle have their own unique playing styles. Regardless of the opponents, we will carefully prepare for those matches."
It should be noted that the "Liverpool" - "Qarabag" match ended with a 6:0 victory for the home team. "Qarabag", which finished the main stage of the Champions League in 22nd place with 10 points, qualified for the play-off stage for the first time in its history.
