It was very important to win on the road against "Shkëndija".
"Report" informs that the head coach of "Qarabağ" Gurban Gurbanov said this at a press conference after the first match against "Shkëndija" (North Macedonia) in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
The experienced specialist said that they were happy with the away win:
"I thank my players for fighting to the end. It was very important to win on the road. We made a lot of mistakes during the game. But in the end, we were able to achieve the desired result. I can only say good things about "Shkëndija". They performed well against the Romanian representative FCSB in the second qualifying round of the Champions League. It is gratifying to return from away against such a team with a victory. We must play more carefully against this opponent in Baku. Because we have a team in front of us that doesn't like to lose."
It should be noted that the "Shkëndija" - "Qarabağ" match ended with a 1:0 victory for the Aghdam representative. The return match between the sides will be held on August 12 at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium and will start at 20:00.
