Gurban Gurbanov, the head coach of "Qarabagh", doesn't want a statue of himself.
Idman.Biz reports that the coach himself stated this in an interview with "Sportinfo".
"I don't think a statue should be erected for me anywhere. I don't want such a thing to happen at all. I am a child of this nation. I must properly fulfill the task assigned to me. There are so many people who deserve statues... We had so many heroes in our war, people who showed their character and went to their deaths... More should be said about them than about us. This is a daily work routine, there is no one hindering us or throwing stones at us. We quietly do our job," said Gurbanov.
It should be noted that Aqil Abbas, a member of the Milli Majlis, came up with the relevant idea. Deputy Fazil Mustafa proposed naming the stadium being built in Agdam after Gurban Gurbanov.
