Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has commented ahead of his team's Premier League match against Liverpool in the 11th round.
Idman.Biz reports that this match will be the Spanish coach's 1000th in his career.
"If I could choose an opponent for such a personal anniversary, Liverpool would be the best choice. I have lived in this country for a long time. Of course, Barcelona is an important part of my life. I have been there as a ball boy, player, and coach.
"Bavaria was an incredible stage. But Liverpool - especially under Jurgen Klopp - is our main rival in this country. It couldn't be better. That's fate, that's the will of the universe. I hope our fans will come to the stadium to celebrate my anniversary and together we can defeat a serious rival," Guardiola said on the club's official website.
After 10 games in the English Premier League, Liverpool is in third place in the standings with 18 points. Manchester City is in second place with 19 points.
