Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola has highly praised the work of Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca.
Idman.Biz reports that Guardiola has called Maresca one of the best coaches in the world.
"It's not the best situation - you play better, but there is little progress. But at the same time, it shows the right mindset, which is good.
Last season our level of play was not at the required level and this situation was repeated. I'm not naive enough to realize that we need to play better, but at the same time I'm a very positive and optimistic person; I want to see the good things we have achieved.
Look at what happened after the Leeds game. Entso Maresca is one of the best coaches in the world; I know him very well. But his work at Chelsea is not always given the credit it deserves. Winning the Club World Cup, the Conference League and qualifying for the Champions League in a difficult league like the Premier League, especially with a young team like Chelsea, is incredible. And he rotated the squad, look what happened (Leeds beat Chelsea 3:1 - ed.).
You can win, win, win and then lose, lose, lose. This is only possible in this league, in this country. This also happens," Guardiola told the BBC.
Under Maresca's leadership, Chelsea is fourth in the English Premier League standings with 24 points. Josep Guardiola's Manchester City is second with 28 points.
