"Manchester City" head coach Josep Guardiola has stated the necessity of reducing the squad after their 4:0 victory against "Wolverhampton" in the first round of the English Premier League.

"Am I happy with the team? No, we have too many players. Today Rodri, Foden, Kovacic and Savio were not in the squad, and Ake and Gündoğan remained on the substitutes' bench. I like having depth for all competitions, but I don't want anyone left out of the squad - it's difficult to live in this kind of competitive environment, but there has been a fighting spirit in the club since last season.
The club has been aware of this since last season, but the situation remains the same. In the coming weeks, we will be negotiating with players and their agents to reduce the squad, otherwise it will be difficult to maintain team spirit," said Guardiola.
It is worth recalling that last season Guardiola's team finished 3rd in the Premier League table.
