Guardiola becomes the first coach to exceed €2 billion in transfer spending

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has become the first specialist in football history to exceed €2 billion in total transfer spending.

According to Idman.Biz, citing Transfermarkt, this happened after winger Antoine Semenyo's €72 million transfer from Bournemouth to Manchester City. The total transfer spending of teams managed by the Spanish manager has reached €2.58 billion.

During his coaching career, 54-year-old Guardiola has worked with the youth and senior teams of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City. He began managing the English club in the summer of 2016, has won the English Premier League six times, and led the team to victory in the Champions League.
