Granit Xhaka, the former captain of Arsenal, currently playing for Bayer, could return to the Premier League.
Lent.az reports, citing foreign media, that the Swiss footballer is close to signing a contract with Sunderland.
The clubs are in negotiations for the transfer. Sunderland sees Xhaka as a replacement for Jude Bellingham, who went to Borussia Dortmund.
Xhaka has agreed to the terms of his personal contract and has asked the Leverkusen club to give him a discount.
Recall that Xhaka played for Arsenal from 2016-2023.
