The grandson of Sirus Tabrizli, the deceased Minister of Press and Information of Azerbaijan and one of the 91 founding members of the New Azerbaijan Party, has debuted in the Substitutes League.
İdman.Biz reports, citing sportnet.az, that Sirus Tabrizli, who bears his grandfather's name and surname, made his first match for "Araz-Nakhchivan-2" in an away match against "Shamakhi-2."
The 17th round match, held at the Shamakhi city stadium, ended with a 4:3 victory for the home team. The 20-year-old midfielder entered the game in the 46th minute.
Grandson Sirus Tabrizli is contractually owned by "Qarabag-2." He plays for "Shamakhi-2" on loan.
It should be noted that the deceased politician and journalist Sirus Tabrizli was a deputy of the I (1995–1998) and II (2000–2005) convocations of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, and the Minister of Press and Information of Azerbaijan (1997–2000). He died on September 7, 2013, at the age of 71.
