Former Turkish national team member Gökhan Gönül has been detained. Sport24.az reports that the veteran defender was arrested as part of an investigation launched into allegations of manipulation in some stock market transactions.
This was reported by the local media.
A total of 12 people have been involved in the investigation within the scope of the operation.
It should be noted that Gökhan Gönül played for "Gençlerbirliği", "Fenerbahçe", "Beşiktaş" and "Rizespor" during his career. The 40-year-old specialist worked as the head coach of the Turkish U-21 national team and as an assistant coach at Fenerbahçe.
