Liverpool defender Giovanni Leoni has undergone surgery after rupturing his cruciate ligament in his knee. Sport24.az reports that the footballer shared this on his social media account:
"The operation is over. Thank you all for the messages. I'll be back soon."
The 18-year-old Italian was sidelined on September 23 in the match against Southampton. Liverpool head coach Arne Slot said the footballer may miss the season.
Note that Leoni moved from Parma to Liverpool in August this year. The contract value was 31 million euros. His contract with the English club expires in the summer of 2031.
