FIFA President Gianni Infantino has called Norway's qualification for the 2026 World Cup a source of pride for the country. Sport24.az reports that the head of the supreme football body made these statements in an interview with Norwegian TV channel "TV 2":
"After years of hard work and dedication, you have returned to the world football stage. Your players and fans will bring energy, pride and a new generation of Scandinavian talent to North America in 2026. This is a proud moment for Norwegian football. Enjoy it and get ready to make your mark. We look forward to seeing the Norwegian flag waving at the tournament."
It should be noted that the Norwegian national team secured a place in the World Cup by defeating Italy (4:1) away within the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup yesterday.
