FIFA President Gianni Infantino has announced that he has been granted Lebanese citizenship for his contributions to the development of sports in the Arab country. According to Sport24.az, the head of the supreme football body shared this on his social media account:
"I am officially proud to be Lebanese! Today in Beirut, I am deeply honored to receive Lebanese citizenship from President Joseph Aoun, with whom I met to discuss how we can further develop football and use it as a vehicle to promote peace, education, and opportunities for youth."
It should be noted that during the meeting, Infantino presented Lebanese President Joseph Aoun with the official ball of next year's World Cup, the logo of the supreme football body, and a number 10 jersey.
