A footballer has died as a result of an armed attack on a club bus in Ghana.

Thus, "Berekum Chelsea" striker Dominic Frimpong died from injuries sustained during an armed attack on the team's bus.
The incident occurred while the team was returning from a match (0:1) against "Samartex" in the national championship. The bus was stopped by a group of armed robbers.
A statement released on the club's social media account states that the gunmen started shooting at the bus as the driver tried to maneuver back. Players and club staff took refuge in nearby bushes. However, one of the players was seriously injured and it was not possible to save his life.
In connection with the tragedy, the Ghana Football Association has announced plans to review and strengthen security measures for clubs participating in domestic competitions.
