German amateur referee Pascal Kayzer was physically attacked in front of his house last night.
İdman.Biz reports, citing "L'Equipe", that the incident occurred after he publicly proposed to his same-sex partner a week ago at the "Rhein Energie Stadium" of the "Cologne" football club.
It is noted that the day before the attack, Kayzer reported receiving open threats mentioning his address. Although he appealed to the police, law enforcement agencies noted that there was no serious danger.
According to Kayzer, about 20 minutes later, when he went out to the garden to smoke a cigarette, three people were waiting for him and used violence. The referee believes that the attack was related to the marriage proposal at the stadium.
As a result, he suffered an injury to his right eye area.
