Florian Wirtz, a footballer from the German club Bayer 04, is close to joining Liverpool.
Report reports that football insiders have released information about this.
David Ornstein, writing for The Athletic, stated that Bayern believes Florian Wirtz will play at Anfield if he leaves his current team: "Liverpool have gained significant momentum in their efforts to acquire Florian Wirtz, while Bayern believe that the playmaker will not join them and will prepare to go to Anfield if he leaves Bayer this summer. Both clubs want Wirtz, but he is believed to prefer Liverpool." According to him, the 22-year-old footballer has already visited the north-west of England to look for a house.
Fabrizio Romano noted that the "Reds" are confident that they will be able to sign Wirtz. According to his words, negotiations are ongoing for the "final green light": "Liverpool are favorites in the fight with Bayern for the German gem." In addition, he added that the Merseyside representative has also made an official request for the attacking midfielder: "After receiving initial agreement from the player, Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen are negotiating the transfer fee/package. Liverpool want the deal to be completed soon to avoid surprises, they don't want it to take long."
It should be noted that Florian Wirtz was previously on the radar of Manchester City and Real Madrid.
