"The game started as we wanted and we scored the first goal."
These words were said by the head coach of "Garadagh Lokbatan", Gazanfar Abbasov.
The young specialist shared his thoughts on the game in which his team lost to "Khankendi" in the 15th round of the First League.
"We could have scored another goal in the first half, but my players were hasty. Our discipline in defense was disrupted, the players did not play as they did in the first half when defending. That's why we conceded goals," he said in an interview with sport24.az.
He further stated that although they tried to recover, they could not achieve what they wanted:
"We attacked with numerical superiority, but we couldn't finish. The opponent's cross from the flank resulted in the second goal due to a misunderstanding between the defender and the attacker. It is true that "Khankendi" is 3 points ahead in the standings. This does not mean that everything is over. We still have many games ahead and one match left with "Khankendi". We will recover and continue our fight for the championship. Everything is in our hands and I believe in my players. I believe that my players will not be discouraged by losing this match, but on the contrary, they will approach all games with a desire to win with even more responsibility. We have one goal - the championship. God willing, we will achieve our goal at the end of the season."
It should be noted that the match ended with a 2:1 victory for "Khankendi". After this result, "Khankendi" is 3 points ahead of "Garadagh Lokbatan" in the standings and rose to sole leadership.
