"The game started the way we wanted and we scored the first goal". This was stated by Gazanfar Abbasov, the head coach of "Garadag Lokbatan", in his statement to Sport24.az.
The young specialist shared his thoughts on the game in the 15th round of the First League, in which his team lost to "Khankendi":
"We could have scored again in the first half, but my players were hasty. Our discipline in defense was broken, the players did not play as they did in the first half while defending. That's why we conceded goals".
He later stated that they were trying to regroup, but emphasized that they could not achieve what they wanted:
"We attacked with numerical superiority, but we couldn't finish it. The opponent's cross from the flank resulted in the second goal in our goal due to misunderstanding between the defender and the striker. True, "Khankendi" is 3 points ahead in the tournament table. This does not mean that everything is over. We still have many games ahead and one match left with "Khankendi". We will regroup and continue our fight for the championship. Everything is in our hands and I believe in my players. I believe that my players will not be discouraged by losing this match, but will instead approach all games with a desire to win with even more responsibility. We have one goal - the championship. God willing, we will reach our goal at the end of the season".
It should be noted that the meeting ended with a 2:1 victory for "Khankendi". After this result, "Khankendi" surpassed "Garadag Lokbatan" by 3 points in the tournament table and rose to sole leadership.
