Italian national team coach Gennaro Gattuso has expressed his dissatisfaction with the existing regional differences regarding the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Idman.Biz reports that Gattuso does not consider the number of direct tickets allocated for South America to be fair.
"It is not fair that six teams from South America qualify directly for the World Cup and the seventh plays in the play-offs. In Europe, the groups are extremely tight," the expert said.
Gattuso also added that the difference between the regions disappoints him:
"It saddens me to see six teams from the South American group going directly to the World Cup."
