Italy national team coach Gennaro Gattuso has apologized for his team's failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
As a reminder, the Italians lost to the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the final play-off match of Path A for the right to participate in the World Cup (1:1, 1:4 penalty shootout).
"I personally apologize for Italy's failure to qualify for the upcoming World Cup. But our players did their best on the field," Gattuso emphasized.
It should be noted that the Italians last participated in the World Cup in 2014.
