Legendary Welsh footballer Gareth Bale gave interesting statements to "The Footy Section" magazine about his career.
Idman.Biz reports that the 36-year-old former footballer spoke about his years at Real Madrid.
G. Bale stated that injuries were the main turning point in his career:
"If it wasn't for injuries, my name would be discussed at the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi."
The Welsh forward said that he was superior in executing standard situations during training at Real:
"I was the best free-kick master and the best finisher in training. But Cristiano preferred to take free-kicks and all standard situations. Nevertheless, my percentage of scoring goals from free-kicks in training was higher than his."
Bale also spoke about the magnificent goal he scored against Liverpool in the Champions League final:
"I scored an incredible goal against Liverpool in the final. But everyone hesitates to accept that goal as the best goal in the history of the Champions League - the only reason is that my name is Gareth Bale."
For information, let's add that Gareth Bale announced that he had finished his professional career in January 2023. His last club was the US club Los Angeles.
