"Work is currently underway at the Ganja Stadium and is expected to be completed by the end of May."
These words were spoken by Qabil Mehdiyev, head of the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The ministry official clarified the condition of the turf of the Ganja city stadium, which is the home arena of "Kapaz", a representative of the Azerbaijan Premier League. He also evaluated the possibility of the "yellow-blues" receiving rivals at their home stadium until the end of the 2025/2026 season.
"After the work is fully completed and the turf is fully grown, the "Kapaz" football team will be able to hold its games here. The period of turf growth and readiness for games also depends on weather conditions," he said in a statement to teleqraf.az.
It should be noted that the Ganja city stadium was closed in 2023 due to reconstruction work. Although the opening ceremony of the CIS games was held at the rebuilt Ganja stadium, the arena's lawn is not yet ready. "Kapaz" is temporarily holding its home games at the Yevlakh city stadium.
