The UEFA Appeals Committee has made a strict decision regarding the fans of the Galatasaray football club. The Turkish representative has been banned from selling tickets for the away match against Liverpool in England as part of the Champions League 1/8 final stage.
İdman.Biz reports that, according to the information released by the UEFA press service, the club has also been fined 40,000 euros (79,000 AZN). This penalty is related to the events that took place on February 25 in Turin in the return match against Juventus (2:3 in extra time). During that match, the "yellow-red" fans threw foreign objects onto the field, used pyrotechnics and caused riots.
It should be noted that the first match between Liverpool and Galatasaray will be held on March 10 in Turkey, and the return match will be held on March 18 in England.
