The Gabonese government has taken drastic measures against the national football team.
İdman.Biz reports that Thierry Mouyouma's team finished last in the Africa Cup of Nations group stage without winning a single point.
Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon and Mozambique also competed in the group.
"Considering the Panthers' disgraceful performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, and various results contrary to the values of ethics and exemplary conduct supported by the Fifth Republic, the government has decided to dismiss the coaching staff; suspend the national team until further notice; and exclude players Bruno Ecuele-Manga and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the squad," the government said in a statement.
