"Before the game with Iceland, I believed that our national team would win a point." Fuzuli Mammadov said this in his statement to Sport24.az.
The experienced expert shared his expectations from the match between our national team and the Ukrainian team within the framework of the DÇ-2026 qualifying stage:
"In the game with Iceland, we played defensively in the first half. There was a serious problem with transitions forward. If we could do that, we could cause serious difficulties for the opponent. The consecutive goals conceded in the second half affected the players psychologically. I believe that our team will score at least one point in the match against Ukraine. Now the players have to be more responsible. True, the team traveled a long way from Iceland, but they had time to recover. Iceland is not a strong team, but I hoped that our national team would win a point. The players in the national team have a lot of international game experience. Again, I believe that our national team will win at least one point in the game against Ukraine."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan - Ukraine match will be held on September 9 at 20:00 at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium.
