Netherlands international midfielder Frenkie de Jong has agreed to extend his contract with "Barcelona" until 2029.
According to Idman.Biz, citing "Mundo Deportivo", the signing of the new contract will take place on Wednesday, October 15, after the player returns from the national team.
According to the publication, the release clause for the 28-year-old footballer will increase to 500 million euros.
De Jong has been playing for "Barcelona" since 2019 and was transferred from "Ajax" for 85 million euros. During this time, he has played 267 matches, scored 19 goals and provided 24 assists. The Dutch player has won two Spanish championships (2023, 2025), two Spanish Cups (2021, 2025) and two Spanish Super Cups (2023, 2025) with the Catalan club.
This season, de Jong has played eight matches in all competitions for "Barcelona" and provided one assist.
