An interview with Aleksey Savinov, the former head coach of the Moldovan club "Petrocub," on Futbolinfo.az.
– You have been at the helm of the Bulgarian II League club "Fratria" since last month. How did your appointment happen? What goals have been set for you?
– Yes, my appointment took place in June. The goals set for the new season are at the highest level – the main goal is to obtain a promotion to the top league.
– Have you ever received an offer from Azerbaijan as a coach? If you were invited from our country, would you accept the offer?
– There has been no offer from Azerbaijan yet. However, many things connect me with your country. I spent a wonderful 5 years in Azerbaijan as a football player. It was a very beautiful page in my football career. Maybe in the future, it will be possible to achieve the same success as a coach in Azerbaijan. But currently, all my thoughts and attention are focused on the "Fratria" club. The team has big goals, and I believe that we will achieve the goal set by the management for this season.
– "Petrocub," which you used to coach, will face "Sabah" in the Conference League. Who do you think is the favorite?
– I think there is no favorite in the "Petrocub" – "Sabah" pair. The chances are 50/50.
– What are the main strengths of the current "Petrocub"?
– "Petrocub" has always had team play as its main strength. This is a very organized and motivated team. Also, the club has a strong coaching staff that knows how to achieve results.
– Which players from "Petrocub" should "Sabah" footballers pay the most attention to? Who are the most dangerous players in the Moldovan club?
– "Petrocub" is a combination of youth and experience. There are experienced players and talented young people in every position. But of course, the leader and heart of the team is captain Vladimir Ambros, who has been wearing the "Petrocub" jersey for many years.
– Can "Sabah" face strong pressure from local fans in the match in Moldova?
– I am sure that fans will fill the stadium in Chisinau and will be the real "12th player."
