17-year-old Eshgin Mahi oglu Rustamov, who died last week in front of school number 94 in Bakikhanov settlement of Baku, was a football player.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to fanat.az that the young man, who reportedly suffered a heart attack, played in the team of "Mübariz" Football Academy.
It is said that he quit football last summer due to a problem with his heart. Cavid Mursalov, the coach of "Mübariz" Football Academy, confirmed that Eshgin played in their team:
"Yes, Eshgin was a member of our team. He played with us for about 2 years. As far as I know, he had never played anywhere before. His physical indicators were excellent. He was a tall and strong child. He played well. He brought a health certificate, without which it is impossible for us to take someone into the team. But I can't say how they got the certificate. His cousin Tunar is currently playing for us.
As for Eshgin's departure from the team, he could not continue due to his exams. His parents considered it important for him to devote more time to education."
