Former Barcelona forward Munir El Haddadi, who continued his career at Iranian football club Esteghlal, fled Iran due to the tense situation and military conflicts in the country. The famous football player crossed into Turkey for security reasons.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to the publication "Marca" that the 30-year-old Moroccan player took action following increasing attacks and violent clashes in the region. El Haddadi, along with another footballer Ivan Sanchez, who plays in Iran, reached Turkey by land.

Munir El Haddadi said in a statement: "Yesterday I intended to leave the country by air, but at the last moment we were taken off the plane and the flight did not take place. The club provided me with a car to leave the country by car, and thanks to this I was able to cross the border without any problems. I am currently in Turkey and will arrive in Spain in the coming hours," he said.

Munir El Haddadi, who started his career at Barcelona, won the La Liga three times and the Champions League once with the Catalan representative. This season, the striker, who played in 26 matches in the Iranian championship, scored four goals and two assists.
