Footballers who consistently sit on the bench for their clubs will not be invited to the Azerbaijan national team.
"Report" reports that this was stated by the head coach of the Azerbaijani national team, Fernando Santos, at a press conference.
The Portuguese expert said that it is important for the players invited to the national team to be in good shape:
"I respect the decision of every coach. Players invited to the national team must play regularly. We have very few players playing abroad. I would also like more Azerbaijani players to be in the squad."
It should be noted that the national team, led by the Portuguese specialist, will face Latvia away on June 7, and Hungary in Baku 3 days later.
