The Spanish Footballers' Association (AFE) has announced its opposition to the La Liga match to be held in Miami.
"They have never consulted with the players and have not given us any information. This is clearly disrespectful. We are united and demand respect and transparency."
La Liga club captains - Ter Stegen and Gerard Moreno also signed the Footballers' Association statement condemning the lack of prior consultation regarding the move of the Villarreal - Barcelona match to Miami.
The very idea of the match was considered humiliating by the Association.
It should be noted that the Royal Spanish Football Federation has decided to hold the 17th round Villarreal - Barcelona match in Miami.
