A Swedish top-league playoff match lasted over four hours due to a fire on the artificial turf.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to "Aftonbladet".
With five minutes remaining in the main game and the score at 0:0, fans of the "Norrköping" club began throwing flares onto the field, resulting in the synthetic turf and goal nets catching fire.
After a considerable delay, a decision was made to continue the match. However, 50 seconds after the game resumed, flares were thrown onto the field again. The game was stopped for a second time to remove the fans from the stands.
The final whistle was blown four and a half hours after the game started. "Örgryte" won 3:0 and was promoted to the top division.
