PSG striker Bradley Barcola will not participate in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches for the French national team. He was injured in the Champions League match against Atalanta.
According to Idman.biz, head coach Didier Deschamps has called up 32-year-old Lens striker Florian Thauvin, who has not played for the national team since 2019, to replace him. Thauvin's return coincides with the 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Azerbaijan on October 10.
After the match against Azerbaijan, France will face Iceland on October 13 as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
