Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has never supported Xabi Alonso as head coach during his tenure. This was reported by ESPN, according to Sport24.az.
According to the source, the general director Jose Angel Sanchez insisted on Alonso's appointment. It is reported that Sanchez was the one who negotiated with the Spanish coach, while Perez wanted to bring in another coach.
