It is reported that the fans who entered the bus hugged the players, took selfies, and some even took off the players' uniforms. According to reports, Jorginho, one of the team's players, who was in a semi-shocked state at these moments, was filmed sitting shirtless on the bus.
Several thousand fans attended the send-off of the team on the streets of Rio de Janeiro.
Brazilian media also reported that the club had previously applied to the UN with an official request to recognize "Flamengo" and its fans as a separate "nation".
