The Finalissima match, planned to be held between the national teams of Spain and Argentina, has been canceled by the joint decision of UEFA and CONMEBOL.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to the "EuroFoot" publication that although UEFA offered various alternatives to save the game, these options did not satisfy the opposing side.
The official statement of the organization states:
"Despite the difficulties of relocating such an important game in such a short period of time, UEFA has considered other possible alternatives to save the match. However, each of the proposed options was ultimately unacceptable to the Argentine Football Association (AFA)."
Let us remind you that the match between Spain and Argentina was initially scheduled to take place on March 27, 2026, at the "Lusail" stadium in Doha, Qatar. However, the current situation in the Middle East made it impossible to organize the game in Qatar. Later, there were reports that the match would be moved to the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium in Madrid, but a final agreement was not reached between the parties.
