The "Pisa" football club has returned to the Italian Serie A after 34 years.
İdman.biz reports that the team coached by Filippo Inzaghi, despite losing 0:1 away to "Bari" in Serie B, secured second place in the tournament table thanks to the defeat of their direct competitor "Spezia" to "Reggiana" (1:2) with two rounds remaining until the end of the season.
Inzaghi has been the head coach of "Pisa" since July 2024. He previously coached "Milan" and other Italian teams.
"Pisa" last played in Serie A in the 1990/1991 season. The team will play its eighth season in the top league.
It should be reminded that "Sassuolo," leading in the Italian Serie B, had previously secured a promotion to the highest division.
