Flamengo terminated head coach Filipe Luis's contract prematurely last December because he was negotiating with "BlueCo" during the contract renewal process with the Rio de Janeiro club.

According to the source, Luis did not react to Flamengo representatives for three days while negotiating a possible contract with "BlueCo". This undermined the trust of Flamengo president Luis Eduardo Baptista in the coach. The coach later learned that "BlueCo" was ready to offer him a job not in the London club, but in Strasbourg, which forced him to return to negotiations with Flamengo.
