Sixteen-year-old defender Filip Pavić made his debut for Bayern in the Champions League 1/8 final match against Atalanta (4-1). Sport24.az reports with reference to the AP that he became the youngest player in the history of the Munich club in the Champions League and the third youngest player in the overall history of the tournament.
Pavić entered the field as a substitute in the 72nd minute, when the score was 4-0.
At 16 years and 58 days old, Pavić is only behind Arsenal player Max Dowman (15 years old) and Youssoufa Moukoko (16 years 18 days old), who debuted for Borussia Dortmund in 2020, in this indicator. Pavić surpassed Barcelona player Lamine Yamal, pushing him to fourth place in the list of the youngest Champions League participants.
It should be noted that Pavić is the first player born in 2010 to play in the tournament.
