Belgian head coach Philippe Clement has refused the offer to come to Russia and manage Moscow's Spartak.
Lent.az reports that the Russian press reports this with reference to Bart Lagae, a journalist for the De Standaard newspaper.
"I contacted Philippe Clement's agent. Yes, Spartak offered him a job, but he refused it. He continues to live in England and I believe he has certain connections there," the media quoted Clement as saying.
During his career, Philippe Clement coached the Belgian club Brugge, the French Monaco and the Scottish Rangers.
Spartak's current coach is Dejan Stankovic, a former Lazio and Inter player who came to Russia in 2024.
