Interview of Tural Piriyev, Executive Director of the Football Development Fund (FİF), to "Report"
- FİF has released its three-year report. How do you assess the organization's activities during this period?
- I assess our activities positively. I hope that the football community shares the same opinion. We have achieved certain results, made innovations, and tried to pay equal attention to all regional representatives. But most importantly, I am sure that we have been able to show that FİF is one of the important tools for the development of football in the country, especially regional football.
- What are the organization's goals in the coming years?
- The main goal remains to form sustainable, "self-sustaining club" models. Currently, in accordance with AFFA's Development Strategy, we are determining the areas that FİF will undertake. Our activities will mainly focus on long-term results, the formation of clubs as products, increasing the knowledge and skills of employees, as well as training personnel in sports management, and short-term results, the formation of financial channels, and attracting sponsors and partners.
- FİF has mainly found sponsors for regional clubs. Are there any ongoing negotiations with clubs in this direction?
- Our work to attract sponsors to regional clubs will continue. For this, we are trying to expand relations with both the corporate segment and entrepreneurs from the regions. There are potential sponsors with whom we are negotiating regarding some clubs. Also, the "Business Club" format helps to maintain continuous relations with entrepreneurs.
- Three more regional clubs have qualified for the Premier League next season. Will you support "Karvan", "Gabala" and "Imishli" in this direction?
- "Karvan" and "Imishli" are among the clubs with which we have individual cooperation. In both clubs, we cooperated last season to develop the "game day" product. In particular, we had a good experience in Yevlakh with electronic ticket sales, collecting a fan database, and establishing two-way communication with fans. Along with this work, we will continue to work on increasing the "game day" experience. We have not had the opportunity to provide individual support to "Gabala" so far. But we want to meet with the club and discuss support opportunities for the next season.
- FİF was awarded again by the UEFA Foundation for Children and the organization was allocated a prize of 38,500 euros. Where will this amount be spent?
- We plan to spend this amount mainly on seminars to be organized to increase the knowledge and skills of club employees, as well as on the educational platform we are currently working on.
