The Africa office of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) was opened on Saturday at the King Mohammed VI Football Complex in Sale, near the capital of Morocco.

The ceremony was attended by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, President of the Confederation of African Football Patrice Motsepe, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation Fauzi Lekjaa, various officials of the kingdom and representatives of the sports sector.
Infantino said at the opening ceremony: "This is a historic moment, a celebration and a day of happiness that will be written in golden letters in the history of football in FIFA and Africa, Morocco and the whole world."
"The opening of the delegation takes place at the right time, including coinciding with the celebration of Throne Day (Morocco's main national holiday, celebrated every year on July 30 - ed.)," the FIFA president added.
