FIFA wants 48 teams to participate in a similar tournament to be held in 2029 if this summer's Club World Cup is successful.
"Report", citing "The Guardian", reports that the supreme football body will hold consultations on this matter.
Negotiations on the format and structure of the next competition will take place after this year's tournament.
It should be noted that the Club World Cup will be held in the USA from June 15 to July 13. 32 teams from different parts of the world will participate in the World Cup.
