FIFA will not hold the Iranian national team's World Cup matches in Mexico. This was reported by the publication "Goal", according to Sport24.az.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said that the supreme football body has already made its official decision:
"FIFA officially announced that Iran's team will not play in Mexico. This is the final opinion."
The Iranian national team had previously stated its desire to hold its World Cup matches in Mexico.
The World Cup, which will be held from June 11 to July 19, will be hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico. Iran's participation in the World Cup has not yet been determined.
